Unique ExperienceEveryone know visitors/travelers visiting Siem Reap mainly to see the ancient Seven Wonders of the World, Angkor Wat temple and the many hundreds of ruins temples scattering in Siem Reap, but only a tiny fraction of tourists knew about the Sacred Dance of Angkor. The underprivileged children from Banteay Srei village whom performed the most amazing and unique dance anyone of us ever seen.
The NGO who sponsored and organize the Cambodian children has been long some decade ago, but yet the recognition and the name aren’t doing their justice. The performance shows twice per week, Wednesday and Sunday only at 7:00pm til 8:00pm, the maximum seats is less than 30 which is very fews privilege and cultural enthusiasts get a chance to see this show. I was there with a friend whom heard about the Sacred Dance of Angkor from his family thats came before him, the admission can be bought on the site (Traditional Cambodian household, with many greenery near Wat Po Lanka - along Siem Reap stream) or through TripAdvisor. The performance last about an hour, yet we wishes it would be longer, the dancer show quite an extraordinary skills with great arts, not only us but the whole audience applauded, what so special about these show is thats no other places have. We have seen the Apsara dance, Coconut and Peacocks dance, but these is truly unique more like a drama Apsara plus storytelling. The final show, had us blessing performance and the traditional knots hand tied by the dancer. The best show while in Siem Reap, truly the Sacred Dance of Angkor
